Cute and very creative the fine art of paper cutting is used here so effectively to illustrate the "alluring mix of renewal and nostalgia" in The Washington Post's ART&STYLE supplement.
There's strong support out there for modern magazine publishers who rally the kindness of strangers to make their magazine launch a reality. I randomly stumbled across this new magazine - Modern Huntsman, via an image search. What caught my eye was the clean design rather than the subject matter - not being a hunter myself. Views on hunting aside, Modern Huntsman has generated over USD$100K in support for their new venture in a 45 day campaign and with a bi annual frequency, they should more than cover their bases.
I just love aerial photography, so cover of the week goes to Another Escape Issue 9 for this intriguing cover which offers a totally different perspective.
Adding this to my holiday movie list...
"Steven Spielberg directs Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks in The Post, a thrilling drama about the unlikely partnership between The Washington Post’s Katharine Graham (Streep), the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, and editor Ben Bradlee (Hanks), as they race to catch up with The New York Times to expose a massive cover-up of government secrets that spanned three decades and four U.S. Presidents. The two must overcome their differences as they risk their careers – and their very freedom – to help bring long-buried truths to light."
Of course it's not the first time Meryl Streep has played a strong woman in media - who could forget her flawless performance in The Devil Wears Prada?
