The much anticipated magazine and coffee retail concept Kioskafe has opened its doors in London's Paddington. The mission: "the creation of the perfect newsstand" served with a side of Allpress coffee. Window decals invite print lovers to "come in for a flick" of their extensive, yet well-curated range not to mention the print on demand global newspaper service. Monocle is no stranger to retail ventures with concept stores and even cafe's in London, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York and Toronto.
From Kioskafe Website:
"A new project from the founders of Monocle: the perfect newsstand and coffee bar. Kioskafé is not only a new addition to the neighbourhood surrounding one of Europe's busiest transport hubs but a new retail model for busy travellers, magazine fans and lovers of coffee roasted by talented Kiwis.
Developed as a response to the shrinking news trade, the handsomely designed space will be a celebration of print, putting the written word, fine images and crisp paper centre stage. In addition to delivering the best periodicals, Kioskafé will also serve the best Allpress coffee and stock essentials for those out on the road: toothpaste, Swiss undies, a spritz of cologne and good hair wax, among other things."
